- Abstract -



The large index contrast between glass and air and the small structure dimensions in holey fibres combine to provide novel properties including endlessly single-mode guidance, high optical nonlinearity.

The state-of-the-art HF technology for nonlinear optical signal processing devices is reviewed from a viewpoint of possible applications for telecommunications.
