Research Positions in Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology



We at Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) Center of Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) seek new researchers qualified in the following area.



Area of research :



Computational Optoelectronics



- Computational optoelectronics for display devices such as LCD (liquid crystal display)

- Optical devices employed for telecommunication like lasers, holograms, optical fibers.

- Numerical simulation of optical wave propagation.

- Numerical simulation or design of Diffraction Optical Element(DOE)



Nanoscale device simulation



- Computation and simulation of Electronic Transport in Nano-scale devices

(Nano CMOS, Carbon Nanotubes, or Molecular devices, etc)

- Quantum Transport in mesoscopic systems





Computational capability required :



- Programming languages such as FORTRAN, C, C++, java, MS Visual-Basic;

- Numerical methods for differential and integral equations, other statistical methods such as Monte Carlo, finite-difference or finite-element methods (FDM, FEM).





Nationality, and the final Degrees obtained, and the final Department attended :



A person of any nationality is welcome, as long as one has knowledge and/or experiences in some or all of the above areas.

Ph. D. or equivalent experiences in related areas.

It does not matter which department a person finally attended, but a strong motivation to learn oneself and work toward the above goal would be better valued although one might have a deficiency in some of the above-stated requirements.
