Dear Jungho,
I think you are doing quite well there and hope you are getting more and more accustomed to U.S. ways.
As you might have felt, one big difference is that in U.S. you should be rather aggressive.
If you do something and you are not advertising it (or your voice is low), then you'll not be treated properly.
At the university (or company), if you do not give much impression (or at least the impression you deserve) to your advisor or supervisor, you'll not be well recognized.
In Korea, some people think that if they do their work eagerly or sincerely, their supervisors will recognize them even if they do not explain what they did with their own tungs.
But that is not true in U.S.
That is not the fault of your advisor or supervisor.
That is the american way of thinking.
If you are quiet, you are considered to have nothing to say or you are satisfied with your current situation (like salary for example).
Continuously improve your English. When you are trying to get a job in U.S., you'll be examined in three aspects: technical knowledge, presentation skill, and communication skill.
I think you'll show your excellence in your effort.
