다름이 아니고, 제가 근래 하버드 의대에 교수직을 수락하고 연구팀을 꾸미고 있습니다. 한국 졸업생을 박사후 연구원으로 한두명 받았으면 하는데, 주위 분들에게 이 기회를 홍보해 주시고 좋은 학생이 있으면 추천해 주셨으면 해서 메일을 보냅니다 (아래 참조). 제가 이곳에서 MIT와 Harvard 학생들을 지도해 보지만, 창의성과 성실성, 연구능력면에서 한국 우수학생들이 충분히 경쟁력이 있다는 확신이 있습니다. 제가 있는 곳은 세계적으로 인지도가 있고 특히 biomedical optics, biophotonics 분야를 하고자 하는 연구원 및 학생들에게 더없이 좋은 환경을 제공하고 있습니다.



Postdoctoral Positions in Biomedical Optics and In Vivo Microscopy

Research opportunities are available in the area of biomedical optics in the Wellman Center for Photomedicine, Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. Mass General’s role as a leading teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School and close ties to Harvard University and MIT provide an outstanding environment for the development of cutting edge biomedical technologies and their implementation in basic biological and clinical researches. Candidates with strong backgrounds in physics and engineering are sought to join leading efforts in the development and application of new in vivo optical imaging techniques including endoscopic confocal microscopy, multi photon microscopy, coherent nonlinear microscopy, and optical coherence tomography. Recent publications include: Opt. Lett., 1981 (2003); Opt. Exp., 2953 (2003); Opt. Exp., 3598 (2003); Opt. Exp., 2977 (2004); Opt. Lett., 2408 (2004), Cancer Res., 5044 (2004), Circulation, 1551 (2005).

Demonstrated excellence in one or more of the following areas is required: optical imaging, microscopy, lens system, fiber-optic devices, endoscopes, sensing, modelocked lasers, signal processing, programming in C++, and analog and digital electronics. Opportunities for graduate students and technicians (mechanics, endoscopes) are also available.
