Abstract
In this talk, some metal nanoparticle applications including near-field enhanced void pattening, photothermal therapy, and multifunctionalized metal nanoparticle shell structure will be presented. In addition, recent trends in metamaterials opening a new physics and applications in optical freqeuncy regime, such as backward couplers, optical resonators and amplifiers, negative refractive index lenses, nanoscale optical antennas will be reviewed.
